Kitty’s Birthday Present to Me!

Both Kitty and I have birthdays during the holidays. We weren’t able to meet up to exchange presents so she surprised me with it at Anime Matsuri. I was hunched over my sewing machine furiously sewing a plugsuit for my Rei Ayanami cosplay and she shyly presented a cute parcel wrapped in pretty fabric. Behold!   Isn’t this just the cutest embroidery piece?! Kitty told me she was inspired by cute Pokemon cross stitch pieces that she came across online, so she made me one to commemorate our time together. Plusle and Minun, together...

Circle Lenses – Super Pinky Red Review

New circle lenses, yay! I’ll be reviewing Super Pinky Red circle lenses today. These will also feature in an upcoming cosplay, hehe. ^_^   Super Pinky Red Information: Usage:  One Year Disposable Base Curve:  8.6 mm DIA:  14.8 mm Water content:  45%   Photo taken during daylight. Again, these are only meant for cosplay. These eyes would definitely scare anyone in real life, lol. They are completely unnatural, but that’s the point. =) The Super Pinky brand is known for enlargement, and these are no exception—they are...

Circle Lenses – Neo Glamour Gray Review

Here’s a review on Neo Glamour Gray! I got these awhile back because I wanted a vibrant gray color that would stand out on my black eyes. Most gray lenses turn a pale blue on me and make me look like I have Waardenburg syndrome. Neo Glamour Gray Information: Usage:  One Year Disposable Base Curve:  8.6 mm DIA:  14.2 mm Water content:  45% I really like these lenses! =) They are super thin and comfortable to wear. These don’t enlarge much, which is actually a good thing; I’m pretty sick of circle lenses that make me look...

Circle Lenses – Vassen Rainbow Eyes Greenish Blue

I’m reviewing Vassen’s Rainbow Eyes in Greenish Blue today. These are one of my favorite pairs! I wear them for normal day-to-day activities.   Vassen Rainbow Eyes Greenish Blue Information: Usage:  One Year Disposable Base Curve:  8.6 mm DIA:  14.5 mm Water content:  42% Photo taken during daylight. When it comes to circle lenses, it’s hard for me to pull off a “natural” look. My eyes are already large, so when I wear circle lenses sometimes it makes me look like an alien. I love these because they...

Circle Lenses – Super Pinky Violet Review

Circle lenses, yay – Super Pinky Violet Review! I purchased these a long time ago for my Homura cosplay. They turned out to be perfect!   Super Pinky Violet Information: Usage:  One Year Disposable Base Curve:  8.6 mm DIA:  14.8 mm Water content:  45% Photo taken during daylight. I think these are awesome cosplay lenses. Very bright and colorful. One thing that does bother me about the Super Pinky brand is that the lenses are huge! My eyes aren’t that big, and I feel like these cover too much of the whites. Despite that,...

Katsucon 2014 Review: Con Report!

For Katsucon, I decided to make a simple cosplay that would be comfortable to walk around in while I fangirled over people. I heard that this was the con for cosplay, and that really piqued my interest because I love staring at beautifully made costumes.   My Katsucon cosplay—songstress Yuna! Easy to hike around in. =) Due to inclement weather, we almost didn’t make it! In fact, most of our friends who were headed there from Texas had their flights canceled. ;_; But we were lucky! So did Katsucon live up to all it’s hype? YOU...

Homura Cosplay Tutorial Part 2| How to Make Homura’s Shield

As usual, we never have time to sit down and put out as many tutorials as we intend to. Madoka Magica is still so popular–here’s the 2nd half of my Homura cosplay tutorial which explains how I made her prop. Sorry, better late than never? This was a great learning experience for me even though I was pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to make Homura’s shield look accurate given the time I had—I definitely thought about decorating a Frisbee but I didn’t think that would score points with the judges, lol. And no Homura...

The Last of Us | Ellie Cosplay Tutorial | Part Two: Makeup

I made a video to walk you through this Ellie makeup tutorial! Enjoy!   First of all, Ellie is freaking adorable. I love doing my makeup and transforming myself into a tough little freckled cutie. Let’s get down to business. Here are all of the supplies I used to create her look (and as you can tell, my collection is extremely mismatched): 1. They’re Real Mascara by Benefit  2. Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer by Stila  3. 225S Made for Mocha Eyeshadow by Maybelline (for eyebrows in this case)  4. Baked Bronzer by...

The Last of Us | Ellie Cosplay Tutorial | Part One: Shirt

This Ellie cosplay tutorial is very long overdue, but better late than never! This is part one of a series of tutorials I’m doing. Hopefully it will help some of you with this specific cosplay, or others in the future! This game has been out for a long while now but if you haven’t played this apocalyptic zombie game yet, I highly recommend it. It stars Joel and Ellie on their journey through a beautifully horrible world in search of the Fireflies. “A brave, 14 year old girl, Ellie has grown up in this harsh world and it is...

Oni-Con X Con Report: Fun Times at Onicon 2013!

So after A-Kon 2013 this past summer, both of us took a break from cosplay. Four months flew by and BAM—Onicon X hit us. The first thing we did was hit up the dealer’s room! Kitty bought an adorable giraffe Kigurumi.  It was so cute, I couldn’t resist climbing into it too. =) Unbelievable, we both fit! (This is my favorite pictures of us…EVER!) Two girls, one Kigu. It doesn’t get better than this. ;P Then our friend Ruby dropped by! We had been planning a Yuna-Rikku-Paine cosplay collaboration forever. She’s the best Paine I’ve...
